Wednesday - kingdom of God

Prayer:  God of love,  we open ourselves to You today… we give to You our emotions that are making us restless…. we give to You the turbulence that is not making us balanced… we give to You to hearts and minds and souls so that we can receive Your love anew each day.  Amen.

Read St. Luke 21: 29 – 31

Jesus tells the disciples to look at the fig tree.  When the leaves are on the tree,  the disciples know that summer is near.   The growing season is upon them.   Even so,  Jesus tells the disciples, you know when these things happen that  the Kingdom of God is near.

Read these verses over again and ask yourself if you find these words inspiring or concerning.

What does it mean that the Kingdom of God is near?    What does it mean for you that God is near?

Do you sense God is  in your life?    Why or why not?

Take a few minutes and reflect upon the phrase -- “the Kingdom of God is near”.

How will knowing that you are part of  the kingdom of God inspire you to live a life of love?

Prayer:  Heavenly Father,  we know that Your Kingdom is near.  We rejoice that the Your Kingdom  is near.  We open our hearts and minds and souls to Your life and Your love, knowing that You are always with us.   Help us to open ourselves to You this day.  Today we stop and look up and pray for Your guidance so that we can be inspired to live a life of Your love.  Amen.
